Education

Cheshire Wildlife Trust Education Service is providing fun and safe, interactive environmental activities for schools. Why not subscribe to Schools membership of Cheshire Wildlife Trust and benefit from reduced rates for educational visits and much more (see below).

Our aim is to protect and promote wildlife in Cheshire and involve local people wherever possible. Our experienced education team works to bring people and wildlife together through enjoyable and positive learning experiences.
We aim to awaken children's natural curiosity about wildlife by providing a combination of knowledge-based and practical activities.

We can provide:-
· Help with trips to Nature Reserves and other special places
· Support during lessons or after school clubs
· School assemblies
· ‘School grounds for wildlife’ consultations

We can offer educational programmes in:-
· Habitat studies
· Life cycles
· Adaptation
· Seed dispersal
· Trees for life
· Hibernation
· Butterflies
· Dragonflies
· Birds ID and habitats
· Environmental Games
· Seasonal arts and crafts.

Many of these activities are linked to the QCA units and the National Curriculum. We the provide worksheets and most of the materials and equipment required for our visits.

Age Groups Covered
We cover all ages; from early years and key stages 1 and 2 right through to key stages 3 and 4. We also provide activities for family fun days see our Wildlife Watch page.

Charges for non member schools will be as follows:
Full day of education work in school £100
Full day of education work in field £150
Half day of education work in school £75
Half day of education work in field £100

In addition we will be offering a comprehensive school grounds development consultation at £50 for members and £75 for non-members.

Schools membership of Cheshire Wildlife Trust
Our Schools' Membership package will offer you high quality, nationally and locally produced teaching materials and access to experienced staff to support key elements of education for Sustainable Development and other curriculum areas both indoors and out.

For just £60 a year you get:
· Teaching support materials brimming with ideas, activities and advice
· Wildlife Posters
· Children's wildlife magazines
· Cheshire Wildlife Trust publications
· Access to all areas of the Wildlife Watch website

Plus staff time at reduced cost to help with
· Day trips to nature reserves or other special places
· Support during lessons or after school clubs
· School assemblies
· ‘School grounds for wildlife’ consultations

Charges for the above are as follows:
Full day of education work in school £75
Full day of education work in field £100
Half day of education work in school £50
Half day of education work in field £75
School assembly free of charge
