Bickley Garden

Bickley Hall Farm already has a mature garden around the main garden. We will be developing this as a demonstration wildlife garden. This will show wildlife gardening techniques, as well as being an attractive garden for staff and visitors. The garden will also be used for education purposes. Plans are currently being developed and include:

  • A small pond and associated bog garden, featuring British native wetland plants
  • A "Bug Hotel" similar to the one we exhibited at Tatton in 2005
  • A border of nectar-producing flowers to attract butterflies and other invertebrates
  • A productive organic fruit and vegetable plot

Developing the garden will take time and effort. This is where YOU come in. We would like our members to be involved as much as possible. You are invited to join

The Bickley Garden Club

The Club will meet on the first Sunday of each month, and will do whatever needs doing, from weeding to watering, hoeing to hedge trimming, or just admiring the flowers.

Club meetings will be 10.30am to 3.00pm

- you can come for just a couple of hours if you like.
Bring a packed lunch for luch time, we can provide hot drinks.
No gardening experience necessary. Children welcome as long as they bring an adult.

If a small group would like to come at other times, either to work in the garden or just to look around, please call Sue Tatman on 01948 820728 or email.

The garden has already surprised us: January brought a carpet of snowdrops under the trees.
