Who we are
Cheshire Wildlife Trust is a charity dedicated to preserving Cheshire's plants, animals and wild places for all to enjoy, both now and in the future.

What we do
Cheshire Wildlife Trust is the region's leading environmental conservation organisation, working on all aspects of nature and wildlife protection. The Trust works in partnership with the county and local authorities, with other conservation bodies, with schools and other educational establishments, with naturalists, with landowners and with the general public to conserve our natural heritage.Already, our work has helped secure the future of many precious habitats and species, enabling them to thrive again.

We achieve our aims by:

• Managing our nature reserves. Cheshire Wildlife Trust cares for 45 nature reserves, covering in excess of 470 hectares. From ancient woodland to wetland, wildflower meadow to marsh, reed bed to heathland, they contain a rich variety of species, many extremely rare.
• Increasing awareness of the environment. We invest in the future by helping all ages to gain a better understanding of nature. Our work with schools and our junior club, Wildlife Watch, is enjoyed by hundreds of children.
• Surveying and recording
• Stimulating awareness of the variety of wildlife in rural and urban areas of Cheshire
• Speaking out on appropriate local issues. Speaking with the voice of our 9,000 members, Cheshire Wildlife Trust campaigns tirelessly for better protection for the region's wildlife
• Advising on planning and fighting insensitive developments
• Enlisting the support of farmers and landowners in managing their land in ways sympathetic to wildlife
